Delhi has recorded a total of 104 active COVID-19 cases, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Health officials confirmed that 24 patients have recovered in the past week, up from 99 active cases reported last week, news agency PTI reported.

A senior official from the Delhi Health Department confirmed the figures, stating that while the situation remains under control, authorities are closely monitoring the trend for any signs of a surge.

No COVID-related fatalities have been reported in the national capital in recent weeks, officials said.

In response to the uptick in cases, the Delhi government on Friday issued an advisory instructing hospitals to ensure full preparedness. The advisory includes directions to maintain adequate availability of hospital beds, oxygen supplies, essential medications, and functional equipment like ventilators and BiPAP machines.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, speaking to reporters on Monday, reassured the public that the city is well-equipped to handle any potential rise in cases.

“We have details of the COVID-19 cases. Our hospitals have all the facilities. We have also issued an advisory,” she said.

"We have analysed the scenario and there is no panic situation," she added.

Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh, in a press briefing on Friday, stated that 23 COVID-19 cases were reported by Thursday.

The health department is currently verifying whether these individuals had recently traveled outside Delhi. Singh also noted that the cases were primarily detected through private laboratories and that the symptoms observed are mild and similar to seasonal influenza.

Authorities continue to encourage residents to follow basic health protocols and seek medical attention if symptoms develop.
