Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday (June 5) reassured that his party will be with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Speaking to the reporters for the first time after Loka Sabha results came out, Naidu said, “I am going to New Delhi today to attend the NDA meeting. I am with NDA only. I will let you know if there are any other developments,” The Indian Express reported.

TDP and its allies won the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections with a huge margin, winning 164 seats in the 175-member state assembly.

The TDP on its own won 135 Assembly seats, Pawan Kalyan’s Jan Sena Party (JSP) won 21 seats and BJP won eight. The TDP won 16 Lok Sabha seats, BJP three, and JSP two seats while the Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party won four.

Expressing gratitude to the people of Andhra Pradesh, TDP chief said, “It is a historic mandate that would be written in golden letters.” He also praised his allies the BJP and JSP for ensuring the anti-incumbency votes were not split and for helping the TDP-led NDA to a historic win.

“It is a combined effort, and we are all equals. I thank Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan for taking the initiative in building up the alliance to prevent splitting of the anti-establishment vote. The BJP also joined the mission to save democracy,” he said, quoted the newspaper.
