The 24th State Conference of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Rajasthan concluded in Hanumangarh on Sunday (December 15), with the election of farmer leader Kishan Pareek as the new State Secretary.
The conference also elected a 35-member State Committee and an 11-member Secretariat to guide the party’s work in the state.
The newly formed Secretariat comprises Kishan Pareek, Amra Ram, Rameshwar Verma, Phoolchand Barbar, Sumitra Chopra, Dulichand Meena, Sheopat Singh, Chaganlal Choudhary, Pema Ram, Durga Swami, and Sanjay Madhav.
Addressing the delegates after his election, Pareek pledged to uphold the party's legacy of struggles and intensify efforts to expand its influence across Rajasthan. He emphasized the need to resist the "corporate-communal double-engine" BJP governments, which he accused of pursuing anti-people policies.
“We have to regroup, renew our fight against the double engine governments of BJP at the centre and state,” Pareek declared.
The conference saw enthusiastic participation from delegates and leaders, with key discussions on the party's direction and strategies.
Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat delivered the concluding address, which was met with resounding applause and slogans from the delegates. She emphasized the need for sustained struggles and unity to counter the BJP's communal and neoliberal agenda.
Earlier on Saturday, the outgoing State Secretary and Lok Sabha MP, Amra Ram, actively participated in discussions with delegates, addressing their queries and comments following the presentation of the party’s report.
Central Committee member Vijoo Krishnan also addressed the delegates on Saturday, underlining the importance of strengthening the party’s base and aligning its work with the aspirations of the people in Rajasthan.
The conference concluded with a renewed commitment to advancing the party's goals and fighting for the rights of the working class, farmers, and marginalized sections of society.
