Three staff members of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Mohinder Goyal joined the investigation on Sunday (January 19) in connection with a case involving fake documents allegedly linked to Bangladeshi immigrants.

The documents, purportedly bearing the MLA’s signature and office stamps, were reportedly discovered during a police probe, The Indian Express reported.

According to officials, the three staff members, who assist the MLA with paperwork, appeared for questioning and have been instructed to return on Tuesday for further inquiries.

Authorities are also expected to issue another notice to Mohinder Goyal on Monday, requesting his presence for additional questioning.

The case stems from a “major crackdown on alleged illegal immigrants” conducted on December 24, which resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals.

These suspects are believed to be part of a racket facilitating the illegal entry of Bangladeshi nationals into the Capital, said police officers.
