On Saturday, October 26, officials confirmed that two more individuals died in West Bengal due to Cyclone Dana, raising the death toll to four, news agency PTI reported.

One victim, a civic volunteer named Chandan Das (31), was killed instantly in Bud Bud, Purba Bardhaman district, when he allegedly touched a live wire while accompanying a police team.

Another victim, an employee of the Howrah Municipal Corporation, was found dead on a waterlogged road in Tantipara, with authorities suspecting drowning as the cause of death.

Earlier on Friday, two deaths from electrocution were reported: one in Patharpratima in South 24 Parganas district and another in Bhabanipur, South Kolkata, reported PTI.

Cyclone Dana made landfall early Friday, unleashing torrential rains and strong winds that uprooted trees, downed electric poles, and caused extensive damage to infrastructure and crops across Odisha and West Bengal.

The storm made landfall at approximately 12:05 a.m. between Bhitarkanika in Kendrapara and Dhamra in Bhadrak district, with wind speeds reaching around 110 km/h, and continued until about 8:30 a.m.
