Suspected militants carried out a bomb attack in Manipur's Bishnupur district on Friday morning, causing damage to at least two structures, police reported, news agency PTI reported.
The attack involved rockets fired from elevated positions in the nearby hill areas of Churachandpur district, targeting the residential locality of Tronglaobi, which is approximately 45 kilometres from Imphal, the state capital.
The rockets, with an estimated range of over 3 kilometres, caused damage to a local community hall and an empty room. However, there were no reported injuries from the attack.
In addition to the bombing, the militants fired several rounds towards Bishnupur district, leading to a response from security forces.
Tensions also escalated in Kumbi village, located a few kilometres from Tronglaobi, on Thursday night, after multiple drones were observed flying less than 100 meters above the ground, according to eyewitnesses.
