Bengaluru South Lok Sabha MP Tejasvi Surya ended his meeting half way and fled, along with his uncle and Basavangudi MLA Ravi Subramanya, when the depositors of the Sri Guru Raghavendra Co-operative (SGRC) Bank started raising the issue of the scam on Saturday (April 13).

The SGRC Bank in Basavanagudi, has been at the centre of storm after a misappropriations of over Rs 1,000 crore surfaced last year. Thousands of depositors of the bank, who invested their lifetime savings, have lost everything.

The Congress state govt had ordered CBI investigations into the scam. Investigations are underway. The Enforcement Directorate had seized the bank's assets of around Rs 160 crore during its investigation.

On Saturday the depositors arrived at a meeting called “Sahakara Samagama” in Bengaluru's Basanguri to discuss the revival of SGRC Bank and the ways by which their money could be rescued. Once they arrived, they found both Tejasvi and Ravi Subramanya, hosting the meeting as a part of their election campaign.

Having seen Surya, the depositors started hurling questions at him. They demanded their money back, questioned the delay in relief and called for the revival of the co-operative bank. Seeing the situation going out hand, the BJP leader made an exist from the meeting.

In the video, Suryar is seen grumbling with the depositors affected by the scam. Depositors were seen to demand accountability from BJP MP for delay in compensation. The situation became heated leading to which the BJP MP walked away with the help of security guards.
