Veteran actor Rajinikanth was discharged from Apollo Hospital on Thursday night (October 3) after undergoing a non-surgical procedure, news agency ANI reported, citing the Chennai police.

Earlier, it was reported that the 73-year-old actor was responding well to medication, with doctors expressing satisfaction over his progress. Despite the positive developments, Rajinikanth will take a brief period of rest before resuming his professional engagements.

The actor had been admitted to Apollo Hospitals on the evening of September 30, after experiencing uneasiness and severe abdominal pain. Following a detailed medical evaluation, he was diagnosed with a swelling in the aorta, the main artery leading from the heart.

The hospital’s medical bulletin confirmed that he underwent a non-surgical procedure using a transcatheter method to treat the condition.

Rajinikanth’s health update sparked an outpouring of support on social media, with politicians, fellow actors, and his devoted fanbase extending their well wishes for a speedy recovery.

On the professional front, Rajinikanth is gearing up for the launch of his upcoming film Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, known for Jai Bhim. Additionally, he is actively shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie.
