Following the slapping incident envolving the newly elected Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MP from Mandi, Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport on Thursday (June 6) by a woman Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, Kulwinder Kaur, an old Instagram remark by the actress-politician, suddenly started doing rounds on social media, where she defended Hollywood actor Will Smith for slapping Chris Rock onstage at the 2022 Oscars.

The Will Smith and Chris Rock incident happened during the 94th Academy Awards, where Smith walked onstage and slapped the comedian across the face, which was in response to a joke Rock made about Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head.

Jada had shaved her head a few years ago after she was diagnosed with alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder. Following the infamous Oscars Slapgate, Will was banned from the academy for 10 years.

In the resurfaced post, defending Smith for slapping comedian Chris Rock onstage, Kangana wrote, “If some idiot used my mom or sister’s illness to make bunch of fools laugh I would slap him like @willsmith did,” Kangana wrote, adding clapping emojis.

She wrote further, “bada** move...hope he comes to my #lockup,” and added a laughing emoji.



Meanwhile, Kulwinder Kaur has been suspended and an FIR was lodged against her by the Mohali Police under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint). 

Both are bailable offences.
